Upgrading the samba version on the WD drive

Hi, I was wondering if there was any way to upgrade a Samba version on my a network drive I’ve got. It says the version is 3.0.25, but it seems it’s got many vulnerabilities, some of them are critical. http://www.cvedetails.com/vulnerability-list/vendor_id-102/product_id-171/version_id-47583/Samba-Samba-3.0.25.html Do I need to upgrade the entire firmware?

Hi iamus, this type of updates are not supported, but maybe some of the other community users can share some advice.

What device are you using? How are you checking this? Samba is software, what firmware are you refering to?

Windows File Sharing is not typically refered to as samba, Linux users typically talk about upgrading samba, windows users get security updates from Microsoft.
