USB recovery, the make matters as well as the size!

I had tried over and over again to use the recovery usb but unfortunately because of the limited information and the lack of a progress indicator on the DX4000 display panel, time just kept passing. I finally found a posting which mentioned the make of USB was important to the success of the recovery, it’s not just the size of the USB i.e. 16 to 32GB but also what name is printed on it. I tried without success with a 16GB Verbatim and wasted many many hours. When I gave up with it and bought a 32GB SanDisk, it worked right away. A list provided by WD of which USBs work would be such a help.

Sorry to hear that you had problems. The manual states that 16GB USB Flash memories or larger should work, what capacity were you trying first?
