A little over a year ago I setup Remote Web Access and bought an SSL Certificate from GoDaddy. If I remember, installing (or binding) the certificate was fairly straight forward at the time, and it’s worked great ever since. However, that certificate recently expired and I no longer have secure remote access. So today I renewed the SSL Certificate with GoDaddy, but I cannot figure out how to install the certificate on my DX4000. The admin guide is no help and in the Dashboard the SERVER SETTINGS>REMOTE WEB ACCESS menu does not give me any help in reinstalling the certificate.
In Domain Name setup should I “Release the current domain name from this server”? Will that start a (e.g.) wizard that will automatically download and install the renewed certificate from GoDaddy? Not sure what to do here. Any help is greatly appreciated!
Quick follow up. After renewing the certificate I received an email from GoDaddy with a link to download the certificate. When I log in to GoDaddy and click on Download it asks me to select the server type and lists a dozen options from Apache to Tomcat with the last option being Other. Don’t know what server type the DX4000 is from the list presented, or if I have to manually download it.
Gramps, I’m not always the brightest bulb in the box. Didn’t know about accessing the server desktop through mstsc. That was a first. I just used the Desktop connector software on each of my machines. I still had a problem with trying to figure out how to install the new certificate once in, eventually throwing my hands up. Went ahead and decided to “Release the current domain name from this server”. Then was able to set it up again using GoDaddy login info, it found the certificate I had just renewed and voila…success. Very easy. I got a buddy that would be quite pissed right now if he knew. He’s a troubleshooter and would have nailed me for not taking the time to command and conquer the issue. Problem is I have to get back to work. Thanks for the help and for helping so many others! -peace
