Incompatible but identical drive

Hello,

After replacing drive WD2002FYPS-02W3B1 with WD2000FYYZ-01UL1B1 in a WD4000, the drive is marked as Incompatible. It is indeed not in the list. I couldn’t find the correct one.

Anyway, I’m sure the drive is technically compatible, it’s just WD preventing it from being used.

Can WD put it on the compatibility list?

btw, whitelist.xml did not help :frowning:

Unfortunately, you will need to use a compatible drive for that unit. If you can’t find the correct model there should be some available under the Accessories section on the WD site that can be purchased: http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=610
