Hi is there a problem with the drive if not we suggest leaving it alone as a bad firmware update can destroy the drive and all data on it. If this is not the case the only way anyone could tell if there was new firmware is if you post the version of firmware on it now but WD does not normally post new firmware on drives that have no problem for example that blue drive would have to have given many problems for a lot of users and I know that is not the case on that drive.
