I have copied many photos on to my new 1T WD Elements portable hard drive. Now my computer only recognises the hard drive as cbd_drive (D:) and has the following sub entries usb.tag winRE.wim Boot All content has disappeared! Please help. Are my photos still there somewhere?

A free one is Recuva http://www.piriform.com/recuva you might also try booting from a Linux Live CD and see if the data accessible.
