Cyclic redundancy error on my wd hdd

hi

 im using wd external hdd with win7.

i’m unable to use my hdd with windows now it shows “cyclic redundancy error need to format for use”

what should be done now ?

it is working fine on ubuntu.

I think you need to reformat the drive. Back up the files first from the ubuntu then reformat the drive using windows. Ubuntu supports ntfs and fat32 format so you should’nt have any problems in using it.

What size is the drive? If it’s larger than 2 T it may need some aditional steps to reformat it.
