WD passport transfer speed got slow

My passpor transferspeed got slow. it comes only 50 kb.i dont want to looseany of my data on the hdd,

secondly if i "WRITE ZEROS’ using the wd data lifeguard tool, all of my data on the hdd wll be lost?

plz help me out on this,

Hello,

Please try using another USB cable and just for testing purposes try it on another computer.

If you write zeros to your drive all data will be erased.
