My WD Passport automatically syncs documents on my laptop. What will happen if I connect to another laptop, to simply compy some files, like a USB drive? Will the original information on the Passport get erased? Will it begin automatic sync with the second laptop? Worried.

If you are using WD Smartware to backup your files on your laptop, connecting the drive to another computer will not cause any automatic synchronization. WD Smartware needs to be installed on the other computer for a backup to occur.
