WD Passport PC/Mac Compatible

Hi,

I want to transfer some files (photos and videos) from my Windows 7 based PC to a WD passport that is compatible with Mac.

The files will be used on a Mac Computer that does not belong to me.

Can this be done ? And what is the process when I do the initial transfer of files from my Pc to the WD?

Is there a  Process on the other end with the Mac?Or do they just plug in and view their files?

A drive formatted for Mac isn’t usable with Windows. A drive formatted for Windows NTFS will be read only on a Mac. You can use software on either Mac or Windows to overcome the format issue I don’t know if there are any free ones left for Mac. another alternative is to reformat the drive Fat32 and it should work on both. a drawback is the largest file size it will accept is 4 gig.
