WD My Passport vs WD My Passport Essential - any difference?

Hi,

I'm going to buy one of these disks. Is there any difference between them apart from external look? According to WD website they are technically the same.

Best regards,

Solos

The only difference on those units are the design on the case and the capacity on the units.

The wd My passport essential used to be only 320GB and 500GB and the new WD my passport goes up to 2TB.

Current Essentials models incorporate AES hardware encryption, while Elements models do not.

Re: WD My Passport vs WD My Passport Essential - any difference?

Does anybody know, which drives are working in the cases?

I'm specially interested in the 500GB drives. Do they have one platter / one head?

Maybe someone who already bought it can read it out with a tool.

Are these silent?
