I was working on files contained on My Passport, and the programs quit responding. I shut down the programs, and rebooted computer, but now My Passport won’t show under “My Computer” as a drive. It still shows in my devices, but cant find a way to access the files. I’m an ■■■■■, no back-up of the files, and they are extremely important. I have tried a new cable, same problem. Won’t open on another computer either. Any suggestions on how to get the files off safely, and/or get the portable hard drive working? Thanks in advance
Check if the passport is recognized on the disk management window, if it is, you can use a data recovery program like recuva or testdisk. Check the link below for the steps.
