WD My Passport Unlock password

I´ve purchased a Portable Hard drive WD My passport and made some backup files from my PC (without creating any password) .

I needed to format the computer and now the external drive asks me for a password, and I cannot install WD SmartWare.

Any help will be much apreciated.

Even if you don’t recall setting up a password you can try the passwords you regularly use and see if it works.

If you have backups of the files you can erase the drive by entering the wrong password five times and following the on screen instructions.
