Wd my passport essential se 1 tb not accessible

HI

guys

new bie here

WD MY PASSPORT ESSENTIAL SE 1 TB NOT ACCESSIBLE usb 3.0 + usb 2.0

it a blue color with a white LED

IT was purchased in 2011 was working f9 till recently like 1month back

was used on both win vista sp2 and win7 sp 1

so i purchase a laptop "lenovo idea pad z400
"

i can feel  the hard disk spinning and led lights up

can see the hdd in computer

loads but when i right click on it for open then it hangs "computer not responding "

cant see the usb hdd in disk management

currently i tried my other usb hdd they all are working f9 

on windows 8

pls help me how can i access by data pls

it is very precious data

pls reply asap

Hi, if possible try using another USB cable, be sure to connect the Passport directly to the PC, avoid USB extension cables and USB hubs. If the problem continues, you can try to contact one of the data recovery companies that WD recommends. Check the link below for more info.

but can u pls tell me why this HDD is behaving so ?

how can i fix this problem ?

and is the hdd still alive and i will be able to obtain the data for copying it to new usb hdd ?

this usb hdd of 1 tb was purchase in 2011 so i  guess it wanrranty is expired

by usb connections directly connected to PC  ? means what 

previously i was connecting to laptop

pls explain each step in detail pls

It will be difficult to know what is the exact problem that is happening to your Passport, but it can be related to data corruption or hardware problems. By connecting the USB cable directly to the PC, I mean connecting the USB cable that came bundled with the Passport directly to one of the USB ports on your computer. Since the Passport is visible from the computer window, another option that you have is to use a data recovery program, WD doesn’t have any data recovery software that you can use, but searching on Google you should be able to find several options. like i  earlier said the hdd 1tb can be seen in my computer  

as H disk

cannot be seen in disk management immediately if i refresh it takes forever

similar i cannot also open this usb hdd with right or left click

it  loads and say not responding

so i have to remove the hdd via remove safely and that odd

i have being connecting this hdd directly to my laptop a new brand one with windows 8

but still cannot acess the file in side

i do hear spinning sound and occassionally clicking sounds

u searched google and found tesk disk free software

is it ok ??

and how can i access the usb 1tb HDD via this program

pls help i need ur guidiance

i will be able to get my data successfully

I have a similar problem.  It was working fine and now it is not.  I must have reset somethibng on my PC when I had to reload my printer.

My other two computers can see the drive so it’s not the cable problem.

Any ideas?

Firmware issue guys. Check for your local data recovery companies. With right knowladge and skill this is not that hard to correct. if I have time this week I will post up a video to show how we deal with this issue.
