WD Elements my passport is 1tb but it became 465 gb after reformatting

What do I do with this? I reformatted my 1 TB hard disk and it became 465 gb. Please help. I don’t know if there’s a new thread of this. Please kindly redirect me if there is one.

Here is a little refresher in case you missed something http://wdc.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/wdc.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=3865 What OS are you using and what format did you use?

I’m using Windows 7.  I don’t know what format I did used but here is the photo of my disk when I have reformatted it. Thanks I’ll try that solution first. I hope it can fix it.

I reformatted it and it work.  But my only problem is my drive got separated on two. And they are 465 gb each… Is there anyway I can make them join together again? And why are they 465 GB each? Shouldn’t it be 500 GB since it’s a 1 TB? I’m so sorry for bothering you with this. I just didn’t know what to do. By the way the WD External Drive I’m using is WDBBEP0010BBK-01.

You should be able to merge them into one partition. Maybe a third party too will be easier to use. Try this free one   http://www.partition-tool.com/
