Someone please help me!

I have MyPassport 0730 that has all of my stuff on it, most importantly my photos from the sessions I do. I was burning a CD for a client, and it just stopped. This message kept popping up on my screen: “Drive is unaccessible. The volume does not contain a recognized file system. Please make sure that all recognized file system drivers are loaded and that the volume is not corrupted.”

I can not eject it using the safely remove hardware thing. It tells me the drive is in use, when it infact is not.

When I try to open it, it tells me I have to format. I can not do this. I will lose everything and I can not afford that.

I am in full panic attack mode over this. I am begging someone please help me.

Hi noelgray, welcome to the WD Community. Sorry to hear you cannot access your files. It sound like the data in the hard drive got corrupted. You can try using a data recovery program and scan the Passport, using Google you can find several options. If the problem continues, I recommend you to contact support directly before trying anything else.
