Password proteced Spreadsheet not opening after transfer

First post so Hi everyone.

I Backed up my files before changing pc.  I have now transferred the files to the new pc.  However some of the spreadsheets were password protected.  When I try to open them,excel opens but the spreadsheet or a password prompt does not.

Did I miss something when completing the original back up?

Any help will be appreciated,

Welcome to the WD Community.

Check the permissions of the folders and files.

They might need to be changed since the were protected on a different computer.

Check online for information on how to take ownership of a folder/file.
