Passport for MAC used with PC also

Hello!

I have a 500 GB portable hard drive that is configured for MAC and currently has files from a MAC computer on it. 

I no longer own a MAC (but will in the near future). I currently have a PC, and I want to manually back up some files onto this portable hard drive. 

How can I safely do so without destroying the MAC files that are already on the drive?

Hi,

Not sure if that’s possible since you will need to reformat the drive to make it compatible with the windows computer. You might be able to do that using a third party application.

Check online to see if you can find a HFS drive reader for windows. Please note that this type of procedures are not supported by WD.
