Everytime I plug my WB Element 500MB a window will appear and it says that I need to reformat my external drive, I really need the files and that external drive serves as my back-up. Is there any other way to retrieve my files before I reformat my external drive? Badly need help. Thank you!
Does the same happens on different USB ports?
Do you get the message if you plug the drive to a different computer?
If you are able to make it work on a different port/computer then make a back up and the format the drive, you could also run some diagnostics to check the drive health.
