My Passport Essential 500GB not recognized by computer

Hi there:

I bought the 500GB My passport essential a year back. It has been working very fine.

Last week when I inserted the HD in the computer it did not recognize. I tried with different computers/ laptops. Still the problem exists.

I tried the Device manager access could not find the device in the my computer/right click/ manage.

I know I still have warranty, but unfortunately, I do not have the back of the data. So, I need this to work.

Any better suggestions please!!

he first thing you have to do is to try with a different cable, check for one and try it.

I do have another USB3.0 cable - I tried it. It does not work still.
