My Computer does not recognize my WD Passport SE

Dear Moderators,

I need urgent help with 2 main issues:

First since yesterday my computer is not able anymore to recognize and read properly my external drive - it takes an eternity until the correspondent name of the device appears and I can access more or less the data (until then it refers just as “local drive”). I have already tried to deinstall and reinstall again WDSmartwareUpgrader but it never finishes executing it (it says “wait until the WDSoftwareUpgrader is configurated”). According to the FirmWareUpdater everything is up to date. But it is curious that WD Quick View suddenly disappeared completely. Afterwards I have installed the SES driver hoping that at least I can access my data through Windows Explorer, but neither this works. Explorer just never stops to load…

Second I cannot access anymore my account - this is why I urge you to help me through this channel. Not like WD Community I am not able to access my account after I have changed the password as requested (tried it several times now). How should I proceed here (contacted already by phone hotline here in Brazil but I cannot see any progress in my request).

Might be a data corruption problem, check the link below for two data recovery programs you can use, so you can try to recover your files, after that just format the hard drive.

Hi Dude, Thank you very much for your reply. I have tried your hint but the issue seems to be much more serious - recuva doesn’t even recognize my external drive! Have already contacted email support. But thanks buddy for the try!
