My 1TB WD elements HDD only says there is only a total of 32gb availble

I recently got a new laptop and was told to do a system back-up before i install all anything so if anything did go wrong, i would be able to restore it to that time. However this has caused the HDD to reduce from 1tb to 32gb max memory avaialble. is there a way i can restore it back to 1tb so i am able to put my music and pictures on as well.

thanks

Before deleting any data you can check on the drive to see if you have duplicated backups on the drive and remove the duplicates.

Otherwise, you can just format the drive and start over.

Make sure the data on the drive is still on the computer before formatting.

To format the drive:
