My Passport 500Gb external hard drive (red) is lost or stolen. Is the data on it, protected by password, completely safe or can hackers gain access?

As it has a unique serial number can it be found (ip address) if computer it is linked to is online?

Can it be dissassembled and data accessed?

It should be safe unless they can guess your password. There is no reset and it would take a brute force attack to find the password. A drive with pasword is also hardware encrypted and connecting as an internal or in another case will only give encrypted data.
