Extreme slow transfer 150Kb/s with My Passport 1T external HDD

Hi evryone,

I have a big problem with my new WD HDD external. My notebook is a Intel Core i3-370M processor, 4GB DDR3 memory with OS Professional Windows 7. I conected my new HDD My Passport 1T on USB and I tried to transfer some files. Unfortunately transfer speed is not more than 150kb/s. I updated firmware, drivers, I made all possible modification I read in forums in these 4 last days but without any succes. Speed is sometimes 17Kb/s and maximum 150-155 Kb/s. I appreciate any advice to solve my problem!

Hello,

If possible please try using another USB cable or try it on another computer to verify if the slow transfer speed remains.
 If you have the same issue on more than one computer using different USB cables then I will recommend that you run a test using the Western Digital’s Data Lifeguard Diagnostics tool.

I tought to change that cable only after I gonne to store where I changed that HDD with a new one. This new one it’s working ok!

Anyway I had not a similar cable around. HDD input has a special profile.
