Did a system recovery changed PC & admin name now My Book doesn't show files that were backed up

Hi All,

I did a system recovery and upon bringing my PC back up I changed the PC name and my admininistrator name.  When I plugged my WD My Book into the USB slot it displayed the current system just recovered.  I cannot see the files I backed up (15 years of pictures/video with 3 kids/wife!).  I haven’t re-formatted the drive or conducted a backup with the current OS.  I just left it as is until I can determine a best resolution.  Please help!

I would like to know what software you used to back up your files from the computer, or if you manually copied the files to the drive.

ArMak, The OS is windows 7. Sorry for the delayed response but just arrived home after being out all day.
