Copying files/folders from Macbook to WD external drive

I am trying to copy a folder from my Macbook Air to a WD Elements external drive. It will not allow it.

The files are mostly originally from the WD drive and I have put them in a folder and want to copy them back to the drive.

Please advise.

Thanks.

Hello,

Was the drive originally formatted to work with the Mac computer?

The WD Elements comes ready to be use on a Windows formatted on NTFS.

Please see the following link for information on how to properly format the drive to be use on a Mac computer.

On the same link you will find information on how to format the drive if you want to use the unit on Windows and Mac.

Please note that formatting the drive will erase all the information on the unit. As a recommendation, save your files first and them reformat the unit.
