Change disk of Security Copy

Hi, I’ve just purchased an external disk (My Passport) and I’m trying to make the security copy but not only of the hard disk of my PC but from a disk of a server. Is that possible to do with the WD SmartWare?

It might work however i read the drive was specially designed to work on a computer connected directly. However, you can try save the files manually.
