Time to upgrade my old trusty 1TB Elements Portable. It’s still working and has a lot usage behind it, and because of that we’ll get another WD disk. Not forgetting the good service we received several years ago either.
Can someone comment on the default spindown time of this drive (WDBU6Y0020BBK 2TB elements portable), assuming the OS doesn’t tell it to do so. ?? I don’t want a disk that stops spinning after 10 seconds.
It’s usually 30 minutes for WD portable drives. If you prefer a portable hard drive that allows you to manually control the sleep timer, I’d recommend a WD Passport instead.
