I plug it in and the machine does not recognize it. It beeps like there’s communication, the indicator LED flashes, but then the beeping stops and I can’t locate the storage device anywhere. And yet the LED continues to blink at me mockingly.
I have tried via USB 2.0 on a Lattitude running Win7 Enterprise and via USB 3.0/ThinkPad/Win8. Updated SES drivers…installed smartware…no removable hard drive to be found anywhere in any directory.
Dumb question: Is this a bum device that needs to be returned?
Even dumber question: why doesn’t this expensive piece of junk just show up as a removable device and work properly right out of the box like every cheap thumbdrive in the world?
