Led stays white never changes. Tried reset during power up no help. Can hear hard drive start spinning and then it stops after a few seconds.

When the led stays white, It’s normally that the unit is loading the firmware of the drive.
Have you tried contacting WD Support? If the power cycle does not help, the unit might need to be replace.

Aren’t you tired of making new accounts every week? 
When the led turns white simple don’t touch it, let it finish the bootup process, could take up to 40+ mins easily.
If you reset during this process you brick it and will never turn led blue, and you have to contact for a replacement.
