So while i will admint that i have been playing around with adding a ssh user that only has read only access to my shares (for sftp use). Though all the original files /etcpasswd and /etc/group are still intact, permissions etc
It now seems that when ever i try to add a new user even through the cloud dashboard gui i get an error “400048” and the user doesnt created. If i reload the page, i see a user “0” created there.
i can see the same “0” user in the /etc/passwd file also
0:x:1000:1000::/shares:/bin/sh
Now i can rename the user from the passwd file, the change reflects in the dashboard. Though i cannot change the share access for that user… The buttons are stuck on no access.
I can delete the user from the dashboard… So lost…
any clues…
EDIT: seems like i have the same issue on my other cloud drive also.
Could it because i had renames the original cloud user to my desired username ? though the user is part of the “administrator” group
www-data:x:33:root,nobody,daapd, alishare ,0
administrators:x:1001: alishare
