Cannot access the WD My Cloud Dashboard

A week ago I took delivery of a My Cloud storage drive. Installation of all software was successful, and I have accessed the device from my Windows 7 PC and two iPads. Today I tried to access the dashboard from the PC (using both Firefox 32.0.2 and IE 11.0.12). This fails with the message "Browser cannot display the webpage for: http://192.168.1.71/". On previous days I have accessed the dashboard with no problem, but no longer. Does anyone have a solution?

I’ve just discovered the answer to my own question of a hour ago. The NAS IP address had been changed from the previous  ~71 to~ 64, possibly following a PC restart that I did earlier today. It’s a pity that the software can’t find the answer itself, but relies on manual intervention.

Interesting. It is not normal for the IP address to change without restarting the host device itself unless the router is able to drop and change IP configurations based on priority.

Regards,

Im using MAC Maverik, cant acces under no conditions to my dashboard and or MyCloud unit. Try with the solution I saw using the IP  http://192.168.1.64 no way. On the Mycloud start page its 192.168.1.34 also nothing. When try aot acces inform No acces to red (900) this happend on my Samsung S4, on the MAC try to connect hours without result. So I cant acces to my dashboard and no to MyCloud server. Please do you have an other idea what to do?

Did this happen after the firmware update, or were you just trying to set a static IP address?

Have you set a static IP?

your posts lists 2 different IP addresses. what are those?

try ping mycould or if you renamed it use that name. what IP does it show?

try http://mycloud/UI or http://ip_from_above/UI
