Accessing WD My Cloud Remotely from File System

I need access through my file system to the files on my WD My Cloud Drive due to my video editing needs. If you can recomend a method for this it would be great.

Thanks!

I’m not sure I follow:

  1. Are you asking how to use it as cache or temp storage while you are using your video editing software?

  2. You can not access the My Cloud filee with iOS or Windows?

What exactly are you trying to accomplish?

So i save video files that i need to edit on the WD My Cloud, that way they dont take up space on my macbook. When i’m on my home network the drive show’s up as a netwrok drive on my computer. When i’m on a different network the drive no longer shows up in my file system, and i need it too. Otherwise i have to save the files to my laptop with the WD My Cloud Application to edit them when i’m not home. I was under the impression i could run the WD My Cloud Application and it would make the drive appear on my computer instead of having to pload and download everything throught the application. Does that clear anything up?

You need to use the wdmycloud.com site – assuming you can get Java working on your Mac…
