WD Photos mobile App quits syncing until I cycle power on the MyCloud

Has anybody seen this…

I have gotten the WD Photo app on my Samsung Galaxy S4 to sync any photos I take when I return home and connect to the WiFi.  The problem is that after a couple hours (or maybe a day or so) the app quits syncing the photos.  But will start syncing again immediately after I pull the power plug on the WD MyCloud and then plug it back in.

I would normally point towards the router possibly causing the problem, but I purposely bought a good Lynksys router to avoid router problems, and I’m fairly confident in the router settings.

Any ideas???  Thanks!

Welcome to the Community.

Are you able to trigger the sync process by using any other method that interrupts communication like turning off your phone’s WiFi and data, then back on again?

Regards,

No, restarting the mobile app, turning WiFi ON/OFF, restarting my phone, going away from Wifi and coming back.  Nothing gets the syncing to restart other than a power cycle of the WD MyCloud.

I’ll double check when I get a chance to see if power cycling my house network router also gets the syncing to start again, or if it indeed needs the MyCloud power cycled.

Maybe you should try contacting WD’s Technical Support about this. You can do so either by phone or email.
