WD Desktop app does not find device

I downloaded the WD Desktop App for Windows.  I am running Win 8,1.  The app cannot find my device.  (My device shows up in the Network section of Windows Explorer and I can access my files through Explorer.)  Why won’t the app find the device?

Frankly, I’d stick to using Explorer for local access.  It seems faster and more robust than the app.  Only use the app for remote access.

I downloaded the WD Desktop App for Windows.

I’ve found the single use for this in my setup is to view the safepoint backup directory on always connected My Book Studio. IMO it’s a pretty useless app.
