The files must be Apple-compatible if you’re using the native app.
Basically:
* h.264 video and AAC audio in an MOV, MP4 or M4V container
* M-JPEG video and PCM audio in an AVI container

How did you change them?
By the way, the MPW device is just storage – it’s not having any problems storing / serving your videos. But your videos must be playable by the device you are using to access it.
Other apps support more video formats.
