Is it possible to use WD MyCloud instead of iCloud for iphone/ipad?

Thanks for any help in advance.  I would like to back up all of my data on my iphone/ipad to MyCloud.  I have a very limited 5GB of data on iCloud but would like to back up Notes, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, Photos, etc to MyCloud instead of iCloud. 

Am I missing something obvious here (this is why I bought the WD MyCloud), or is there a way of doing this?

To my knowledge you can not use it like icloud except in two ways. The first is for pictures if you download the wd photo app and connect it to you mycloud you could then back them up. The second is if you make a backup via iTunes and then load the image up to icloud manually.
