ERROR Unable to play this media file

Hello, 

I am trying to watch some video files on my iphone via the wdmycloud iphone app, I get the following error when I try play a MP4 file “Error - Unable to play this media file”

Seems live AVI files are not supported but I have previouly watched a MP4 via the app. Anyone else have this problem. I have tried vairous different video files all with the same error.

MP4 container files should be supported by iOS but the codec may be at fault. Does the file play when copied directly to your iPhone via iTunes for testing?

I will test that out, tho I dont think you can copy the MP4 directly to the iphone, I could probably add the video via itunes… 

Its weird because I previously played these files with no problems and now I am getting the error.

I’ve seen this happen before, too.

You might need to:

  -  Force-close the app and restart it

  -  Clear the cache, force-close the app and restart it.

So i rebuilt the Media Server Database via the mycloud dashboard last night and now the app seems to be playing MP4 files ok.
