When can we expect an auto upload option in the iOS app? I bought mycloud 3TB expecting this option only to be disappointed.

Internal development roadmaps are not publicly available at this time. What you can do to speed-up the process however, is to increase awareness and support for an Idea suggesting the same or similar improvements. If this recommendation has not been made, then creating a new Idea is the way to go. This way someone from WD will be sure to see it and will allow more users to support your idea.

A workaround i use is the dropbox app which got autoupload on photos. Once they are synced to dropbox they sync to my computer. And then i move them from my computer to the NAS.
