i’m having trouble viewing mp4 files on the mybook live via my ipad. unable to view media file error report repeatedly on previously viewed files even.
many of the files were previously listed as mkv or avi extensions which i manually changed on the computer.
further problem( pc issue) a windows computer that is connected to the drive via shared network, is not showing all files. many appear, but not all. shouldn’t all the files that are on the mybook appear on all computers sharing the network?

Changing extensions doesn’t miraculously make a file compatible.
The files must be a legal M4V/MP4 container containing supported codecs.

… but if you have an 3rd party player (with the right codec), you can open that movie via the arrow “open with”. There you have to hit the arrow a couple of times until you can see more than the mail option.
That should be fixed in next version
