Android app 4.1.2 - "Cannot access file"

When I attempt to open a preview of a picture in the Android app, it attempts to download the thumbnail but fails with a “cannot access file” error. Subsequent attempts at loading a preview result in an never-ending progress icon or simply flashes and goes back to the file listing. I can successfully download the same files so the app is successfully connecting to WD My Cloud. This is not an issue on my work iPhone.

Have tried reinstalling the spp multiple times with the same results. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Is this happening in your local network (WiFi), or does it happen using your data plan?

This is consistent behavior on both WiFi and 3G/4G connections.

Maybe you should try contacting WD’s Technical Support about this. You can do so either by phone or email.

Just turn off My Cloud and turn it ON again. Maybe access by code will be required again.

Atleast that’s how i deal with this problem…actualy WD firmware feature :angry:

I am having the exact same issue on my samsung tablet and phone. I did not see a resolution. 

My best resolution id abandoning wd app and use VPN. Check out my topic from ex2 forum ex2 and vpn
