USB disk (WD Mybook) to WD Mybook WE whitelight, change the owner of a folder

Hi,

I have connected a external USB disk (WD Mybook) to WD Mybook WE whitelight. the disk is mount as /shares/usb1-1share1, I have formated the drive using the webinterface. I can create the folder on this share, but I the owner is still root. How can I change the owner of a folder on the /shares/usb1-1share1. I only get the error chown: folder: Operation not permitted
