Twonky suddenly duplicating tracks

I’ve been using MBWD for over 2 years now as a media drive without problem. Approx 8500 music files, 24000 photos and 5000 videos. Twonky v5.1.9

Today, Twonky has suddenly started duplicating (and in some cases quadrupling) tracks in the track list.

Browsing the drive from a Windows pc, I can see the files aren’t physically duplicated.

If I browse into the media with http://xw.x.y.z:9000/webbrowse then Music - Folder - - , I see the duplicates.

eg. I bought Goyte’s “Like Drawing Blood” today, ripped it and copied it to the nas.

When I browse to the folder, I see the following:-

- A Distinctive Sound
- A Distinctive Sound
- Coming Back
- Coming Back
- Hearts A Mess
- Hearts A Mess
- Learnalilgivinanlovin
- Learnalilgivinanlovin
- Like Drawing Blood
- Like Drawing Blood
- Night Drive
- Night Drive
- Puzzle With A Piece Missing
- Puzzle With A Piece Missing
- Seven Hours With A Backseat Driver
- Seven Hours With A Backseat Driver
- Thanks For Your Time
- Thanks For Your Time
- The Only Way
- The Only Way
- Worn Out Blues
- Worn Out Blues

I see the same when browsing from my PS3 (which is what I use as my media centre)

From Windows, I can see there are no duplicates:-

C:>dir “\media1\public\shared music\gotye\like drawing blood” /b
01-Like Drawing Blood.mp3
02-The Only Way.mp3
03-Hearts A Mess.mp3
04-Coming Back.mp3
05-Thanks For Your Time.mp3
06-Learnalilgivinanlovin.mp3
07-Puzzle With A Piece Missing.mp3
08-A Distinctive Sound.mp3
09-Seven Hours With A Backseat Driver.mp3
10-Night Drive.mp3
11-Worn Out Blues.mp3

The duplication is happening with albums that have been on the drive since day dot - and were ok last weekend!

I have restarted the server, rescanned the directories and rebuilt the database but the behaviour stays the same. Approx 200GB free on the drive

Any suggestions?

Don’t know a lot about the PS3 as a media center, but the option to remove the Twonky media server and add it again should be available.

Spent the whole day copying the media off, removing it, reinitialising the db, copying the media back … and ended up with exactly the same problem.

Thought ‘stuff it’ and upgraded to Twonky 7.0.8 following the instructions at  http://mybookworld.wikidot.com/forum/t-462856  Had a bit of trouble as the guy who wrote the instructions has one step where you download the startup file from his host and it was offline. Searching Google’s cache fixed that.

Special offer on Twonky licences at the moment, approx $10. See  http://mybookworld.wikidot.com/forum/t-469674/offers:twonky-server-key-discount-50-firmware-1-02-14-is-out

So far, so good.
