Not able to back up Windows 2012 Server to NAS box

I have been trying to backup my windows 2012 server to my 2 tb NAS box, but the backup fails with The version does not support this version of the file format.

I looked for this and added the strict allocate = yes to the global section in the /etc/samba/smb.conf restart the box but the backup still fails.

any ideas how I can this to work?

In the interest of troubleshooting, which Western Digital Network-Attached Storage device is the target for this backup? Please bear in mind that not all WD NAS devices are able to support Microsoft Windows Server.
