Deleting Time Machine backup not working after Mavricks upgrade

Hi

Yesterday I began my upgrade to OS Mavricks. Before this I turned Time Machine backup off. I was running OS Snow Leopard before the backup. I found a guide how to delete the backup from my WD MyBookWorld.

http://wdc.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5332

I got in to the backup after “connecting as”. Began the delete but realized it would take too long. So I decided to begin the upgrade to Mavericks instead. After the upgrade was complete I tried to access my WD by following the same guide. But now I can’t access it. I get a message saying “the server session you’re trying to connect is not supported”. I’ve rebooted the HD but that didn’t help.

Does anybody know why I can’t access the same way as before after the upgrade? Are there any other easy methods to delete the backup?

Thank you!

Chances are the reason why you can connect now is due to incompatibilities with the drive and the newer OS X.

Bare in mind this drive is and older unit and has not been tested on this OS.

If you have another Mac with and older OS X see if possible to delete on there.

Ok, I understand, thanx for the answer.

Actually I do have a mac mini with an older OS, why didn’t I think of that…:flushed:
