DataVolume error for a beginner - Restoring/Resetting doesn't solve it!

Hi all,

I am one week user of this WD, a My Book World Edition on my mac.

I turned off the device for the weekend and now it doesn’t start. I read all over the thread for ShareSpace ( http://community.wdc.com/t5/WD-ShareSpace/Datavolume-doesn-t-exist-message/td-p/4440) and I do not understand Linux or all those strange commands. I then restored to factory settings, resetted, upgraded firmwares, …and still I get this “DataVolume doesn’t exist” error message with a constantly flashing white light in the drive…

BTW, I lost 500 gb of data in the process

I am extremely disappointed. Should I return it? Any thoughts? WD please help…

Thanks for your help
