2.5" WD Scorpio Blue can't read

The hard disk : WD Scorpio Blue 2.5” with win 7

I'd reboot the OS by CD

It found that MBR Damaged (損毀 in Chinese, I don’t know using ‘damaged’ this word is right or not. )

When I start the computer, it shows: this  product  is  covered  by  one  or  more  of  the  following  patents:
US5, 307, 459, US5, 434.872, US5, 732, 094, US6, 570, 884, US6, 115, 776  and  US6, 327, 625
Realtek  PCIe  FE  family  controller  series  v1.19

PXE-E61: Media  Test  Failure,  Check  Cable
PXE-M0F:  Exiting  PXE  ROM

Reboot  and  Selet  proper  Boot  device or  Insert  Boot  Media  in  seclected  Boot  device and  press  a  key.

I don’t know how to do……….>_<

The hard disk had splited drive into two partitions.

One is OS and another is saving files.

I used WD’s 'Data Lifeguard Diagnostic for Windows' to check the hard disk.

Quick check is ‘pass’

Extended check is ‘pass’

But there is 0mb <<!!!!!

Only Finaldata this software can find out the hard disk but it can’t help to save files.

I want to save important files from the hard disk. I DONNOT CARE the OS.

Can you help me? THANKS

Try using Recuva or perhaps Photorec.

Re: 2.5" WD Scorpio Blue can't read

If a drive is identifying itself with zero capacity, then this indicates an internal fault. In such cases no logical data recovery software will be able to retrieve even a single byte of data. :-(

There are some freeware tools that can read the hidden firmware area on your drive's platters, but you will need some competence with DOS to use them.

Alternatively, there is this Windows based utility, but the interface is in Russian:
http://travibot.com/WDMarvel.rar

Once you have read the firmware modules, you may find that one or more are corrupt. This will tell us something about the fault.

There is also this free online diagnostic service (AFF Repair Station):
http://www.hdd-tools.com/products/rrs/

Diagnosis is free, but repair, if possible, costs US$50.

Re: 2.5" WD Scorpio Blue can't read

Thanks you for your help.

But I don’t know how to use the WDMarvel……OTZ||||

I..................I need to use DOS to install the program………?

AFF Repair Station: I’d followed the steps and attached the hard drives directly to IDE/SATA ports located on the motherboard. Unluckily, my HDD has Dell’s OS………Oh my GOD!!!!!……..OTZ||||||

Then my computer can’t start Windows! @.@|||||

Imm………..At the same time, I find the HDD running about 30 seconds, and then it will stop running!!!
