WD 1TB USB External HDD Keeps disconnecting

My WD 1TB USB External hard drive keeps disconnecting even though the power supply is stable. This happens wneh I use it on my desktop as well as on my laptop, even when connected to my flat screen TV the same problem manifests.

What can I do to fix this problem? I have not used upto 2% of the total capacity yet.

Hello,

 

Seems to me you got a faulty power adapter. Contact WD as long as you are under warranty they will replace the adapter for you. 

 

Also if possible change the USB cable, just for testing purposes.
