Private shares show up in iOS apps

I have two problems:

on the online Dashboard I created 2 private users each with a password. When using the mycloud app on my macbook the shares of each user are invisible for the other user as one would expect. However, when I use an iOS app such as VLC or ACEplayer to stream media to my iPad, all the shares are visible for everybody! I enabled the option in ACEplayer to hide folders that are protected by a password but they still turn op. Im sure this is not the idea of ‘private’ shares. So could you help me out with this one?

Finder in Mac (Maverics) only connects as Guest and not as one of the users. I tried the following Go–>Connect to server But it says that it can’t open that user’s folder because the original couldn’t be found. Weird stuff. And connecting as a guest only shows a blank screen in Finder. What to do?

Hello,

Try this:

1 - Disable media serving for those folders.

2 - Try SMB instead of AFP

I tried both but no result…

In Finder the different shares are indeed private. It’s just that in iOS apps such as ACEplayer and VLC the private shares are not hidden.
