I’ve searched the forum but can find no answer that works, so help would be appreciated.
I’ve recently installed a WD My Book Live 3Tb and started to populate it with MP3, photos and vids. All media will play when accessing via a win7 laptop, but when viewing through my Sony Bravia 32EX403 I get very inconsistent results I cant fix.
For e.g. Some MP3 albums (sub folders under the same master folder) show no content to play with the message “there are no items to display”, while others display any play fine. They are all MP3s with the same encoding under the same master folder. I also get the same with photos, even when they are all the same file types.
I’ve re-scanned the media database and re-built it. This displayed folders that were previously missing but didnt allow any more files to be played. I’ve also stopped and re-started all media streaming services.
My TV firmware is up to date, as is by MBL (

Can anyone help? This is really damaging my impression of the MBL, not being able to stream / play basic file formats.
